Truly innovative, the Walkaround combines the movement of a traditional walker with the safety of a stationary saucer. A 4 1/2-lb. stationary foot acts as an anchor, allowing your baby to develop walking skills as she "walks around" it. The Walkaround is safe because it limits your child's movement to the circumference around the foot. Lock one wheel to move in one direction; lock both to keep it in one place. Like a saucer, the Walkaround offers plenty of activities to keep your baby entertained. Ocean-themed toys include a water-filled teether, mirror, music dome, spinning fish, shell bell, assorted textures, and squeaker buttons. The seat rotates 360 degrees or can be locked into place. Recommended for infants 4 months to walking age. 21 pounds so it's heavier than your normal saucer. (CLICK EXERSAUCERS AND ENTERTAINERS after clicking this link).

This Noah's Ark-themed activity mat is a great choice for twins. We are able to lay both our sons down on the mat and watch them interact with the animal rattles, toys and mirror or just with each other. Recommended for 0-10 months according to the manufacturer.

Designed for two children slightly older than infants (the manufacturers recommend the toy to be used by children ages 24 months - 5 years), this is nevertheless a good toy for twins who can work together to get the whirlyrocket spinning. One Warning!: Follow all the safety instructions that come with this toy--it's very easy for children to spin themselves off the toy.

The Wiggles 3 Pack (Wiggle Time/Toot Toot/Yummy Yummy)
List Price: $44.85
Amazon.com Price: $29.99
Our children just love the Wiggles (and it's growing on the parents too). The Wiggles are four guys from Australia who sing (well really only one of them sings, the other guys play some instruments and have other talents) and just act silly most of the time. It's good, clean fun though and any child 6 months and up until 4 or 5 seems to eat it up. Once Baby Mozart seems to be boring to them, it's time to graduate on to the Wiggles. The Amazon deal listed above is a really good value and taking that link will lead to other Wiggles tapes. Another tape/DVD worth checking out is A Wiggly Safari which features the four going to the Australia Zoo and hamming it up with Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin. And they also have released a new 70-minute Wiggly Movie (although it's a re-release from a 1997 Australian film.

(also available on VHS for $9.98)
Another huge favorite in the Sanders household is Elmo (really anything Sesame Street-related is fine, but Elmo is the current favorite on that show). This video is a relatively new release that is probably better for older children (3 and up?) because of the more serious subject matter (Elmo visits a firehouse after a fire at Mr. Hooper's school scares him). It's especially topical with the 9/11 aftermath and should be reassuring subject matter to children who are having difficulty dealing with complex issues. Plenty of other more upbeat Elmo tapes and DVD's can also be found at the link above but this one is well-done and worth buying.

Another great toy for young twins, again probably at the age 24 months - 6 years level. The teeter makes train sounds and requires two AAA batteries.
